Waldo

Waldo is a walkable and bikeable neighborhood and business district located in the heart of south Kansas City, Missouri. What began in 1841 as the farm of Dr. David Waldo, soon became a bustling neighborhood on the edge of the city. Today, you’ll find more than 600 businesses in Waldo (population approx. 13,000), 60% of which are locally owned, surrounded by a family-oriented neighborhood. The community stretches from Gregory to 89th Street and hosts several events every year, including the fall festival and Waldo Week. Waldo is served by the Kansas City Public School District as well as a variety of private schools.

Waldo is an unincorporated community in southeastern Webster County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. Waldo is located on Missouri Route V, approximately three miles north of Seymour. The community is near the headwaters of the James River, which is about two miles to the north-northeast. A small airstrip, Owens Field, is located just south of Waldo.
